It is

now proposed that, following that decision, the post of Treasurer should be removed from the

list of appointments to which acting allowances

attach under the special arrangements described

above, so long as it is held by a non-cadet

officer, and the post of Head of the Sanitary

Department should be substituted, thus retaining

filled by Class I Casser officers 7 posts to which acting allowances attach. This seems to be logical, provided that it is clear

that Class I officers will not have opportunities

of drawing acting pay while acting as Treasurer,

Chat is, if no cadet officer is ever appointed to

act as Treasurer in the absence of the non-cadet

holder. I am not clear that this is the case
